With over 40 years of experience, we've been able to adapt over time to meet the inner-needs of both the experienced clay shooter, offering you an Olympic shooting range, and the beginner too - offering full expert tuition to have you being the envy of all your mates as you smash down clays with ease!

Upon arrival you'll be provided with a full safety briefing and will be fitted out in all the latest safety equipment by our qualified instructors.

Everything you need is provided including gun hire, ammunition and ear protection. There’s also a clubhouse for you to enjoy and where food can be provided on request.

The Shoot

With over 40 years of clay shooting experience, The Big Shoot's Mullingar venue is amongst the oldest clay shooting venues in the whole of Ireland! We've been around a long time and this is due to the fact we're forever updating our facilities - providing you with the ultimate clay shooting facilities in the country. We're home to the Irish High Performance Olympic Shooting Squad, meaning we're able to provide you expert shooters with the ultimate test as you go head-to-head with your mates on our Olympic trap - containing 2 layouts and incorporating Universal trap, ABT, double traps and many more! If you're a beginner, we're more than happy to accommodate you too! Clay shooting is a beginner friendly activity and it's tailor-made for social events such as birthday parties, stag do's and corporate events due to it's fun and competitive nature. Our expert tutors will provide you with the full tuition which will have you shooting down the clays in no time!

25 Clay Shoot

A 25 clay shoot is the perfect introduction to the world of clay pigeon shooting, and gives you the chance to put your accuracy to the ultimate test. Before taking on the clays you'll be given a full safety briefing, and once that's complete it's time to work on your stance and swing. Over the course of your experience you'll receive full one-to-one tuition from an experienced shooting instructor, who'll help you perfect your technique and master the different shooting disciplines. So if you've got a steady hand, razor sharp reactions and an eagle eye this is the perfect activity for you!

50 Clay Shoot

If you really want to put your shooting skills to the test a 50 clay shoot is the perfect way to fine tune your technique. The session gets under way with a short safety briefing, but once that's complete it's straight down to action and with the help of a fully qualified instructor you'll work on all the essentials. Then all that's left to do is take on the clays, and as you work your way round the shooting stands you'll face a variety targets where you can put what you’ve learned to the test.

35 Clay Shoot

Facing a 35 clay shoot gives you the chance to really get your eye in, and with more clays to blast your way through you can really perfect your technique. As well as receiving full tuition from an experienced instructor this extended clay shoot also includes clays, cartridges and gun hire, meaning all you have to worry about is nailing those clays. With a variety of traps to work your way round too you can really take your shooting skills to the next level.
